This year’s Halifax Oyster Festival will play host to 16 sea farmers from all over the Maritimes and even one from British Columbia! You will be able slurp your way from coast to coast! East Coast oysters tend to have a higher salinity, brininess, and more mineral notes than their Western counterparts. While West Coast tend to have more notes of seaweed, fresh cut grass, cucumber, watermelon and overall, more sweetness. We are so excited to taste the difference with you!
We will also have a host of other curated local food options and will have more details on this soon! You will also be able to pour one out your favourite mollusk with plethora of local wines including our friends at Benjamin Bridge, craft beer featuring Gahan House, and local spirits provided by NS Spirit Co!
